This project started out as a simple photo edit. I was playing with collage and ended up creating something magical in the process. The image I created, ended up inspiring me to design an album, merchandise, and more. Once I realized the end result of the image was going to be an album concept, I needed to come up with a name that matched the feeling and aesthetic of my surreal self portrait.
I decided to name the album concept Incantation. The name makes sense in a literal manner, as my portrait is casting a charm into the air. Metaphorically, it is representing my love of magic and imagination. Wanting to believe in something bigger than human existence, my life has been full of artistry and fascination. Why not name the concept after something that I have always gravitated towards.

I wanted to use parts of my life as inspiration for the song titles. Within the titles themselves, I had written them to match the tone of the imagery used for the album. Each title means something specifically significant to my life, whether that was good or bad. I came up with about thirty-five potential titles to use based on those key moments I decided had the most impact on my life. I then began to narrow down the number of songs and ended up choosing eighteen titles.
